Geneva’s reputation as the world capital of haute horlogerie creates particular expectations. When our friends from VOLTIGE approached us with a new challenge for Charles Zuber Official, the brief was clear: create display furniture that honours both the heritage of Swiss watchmaking and the contemporary aesthetic their clientele expects.
VOLTIGE Design & Architecture’s concept required translating their architectural vision into functional retail furniture that would serve as silent custodians of exceptional timepieces. The challenge for WRS Interior Solutions wasn’t simply about creating secure display cases. It was about our understanding that a watch worth five figures deserves presentation that respects its significance without overshadowing its presence.
Each showcase needed to function as both protective vessel and presentation theatre. Security systems had to operate invisibly. Lighting needed to enhance without distorting. Materials required precision matching across glass, wood, steel, and aluminium components.
Our engineering team developed showcases combining glass panels with lacquered wood and lacquered steel construction. The anodized aluminium base provides structural integrity whilst contributing to the contemporary aesthetic required by Geneva’s discerning luxury clientele.
The electronic systems represent the invisible backbone of the project: automatic access mechanisms, dial-lock security protocols, and individual lighting calibrated for each showcase. These sophisticated systems operate beneath surfaces finished to luxury retail standards, maintaining the visual simplicity essential to premium watch presentation.

Interior treatment demanded particular attention. Natural leather and Alcantara upholstery create an environment worthy of the timepieces they cradle. These aren’t decorative choices; they’re functional decisions about how precious objects should be presented to discerning clients who understand the difference between adequate and exceptional.
The showcases proved so effective in Charles Zuber’s Geneva location that they’ve since travelled beyond the boutique environment. The brand has deployed them at exclusive events, including presentations during Geneva’s cultural calendar, where they continue to present their horological and jewellery collections with the same quiet authority they bring to the permanent retail space.
This extended use validates an approach we’ve maintained throughout our work with luxury brands: furniture for premium retail must perform impeccably not just on opening day, but throughout years of demanding service across multiple contexts.
